4. Card Balance & Exchange Rates
What currency is held within the Ucard? HKD or USD?
USD.
How is the exchange rate calculated when spending with Ucard?
Spending is settled in real time at the international exchange rate. Due to real-time exchange rate fluctuations, the final charge may differ slightly from the estimated amount shown when placing an order.
Is the exchange rate fixed?
No, the exchange rate is not fixed. Ucard spending involves real-time currency conversion, and the actual exchange rate is based on the settlement rate of the international card network or channel at the time of the transaction.
Why is the transaction amount different from the actual charge?
Possible reasons include:
- The transaction currency differs from the card's settlement currency, resulting in real-time exchange rate conversion;
- The third-party payment platform or merchant may charge additional fees;
- The international card network or payment channel may have settlement differences;
- A pre-authorization amount may be held at the time of purchase, with the final charge based on actual settlement.
5. Transaction Fees
Is there a fee for each transaction?
Each transaction incurs a fixed fee of 0.5 USDT authorization fee + 0.5% transaction fee. This fee is charged even if the transaction fails.
Why is 0.5 USDT deducted even for a failed transaction?
The 0.5 USDT is a fixed fee generated by each transaction authorization request. Whenever a user initiates a payment authorization, this fee is incurred regardless of whether the transaction ultimately succeeds or fails.
Are there any fees besides the 0.5 USDT authorization fee?
There may be. This depends on the third-party payment platform or spending scenario you bind. For example, with Alipay or WeChat, single transactions exceeding 200 RMB may incur an additional international card service fee of approximately 2%. Please refer to the actual fee rules displayed by the bound platform or merchant.
Are there fees for failed transactions?
- Dispute fee: US$35 per transaction (fee for refund process inquiries);
- Monthly decline rate: 20% ≤ decline rate < 50%: $0.7/transaction authorization fee; Decline rate ≥ 50%: $1/transaction authorization fee.
Are fees charged by third-party platforms collected by Ucard?
Some fees may be charged by Alipay, WeChat, Apple Pay, merchants, acquiring institutions, or international card networks. Please refer to the actual deduction page and the rules of the third-party platform.
What currency is the 0.5 USDT authorization fee deducted in?
It is deducted from the Ucard balance, and the deducted amount is in USD.
6. Spending & Binding
Which platforms can Ucard be bound to?
Currently, it supports binding to WeChat, Alipay, Apple Pay, and other platforms for payment. Whether binding is successful depends on the review results of the respective third-party platforms.
Will I definitely be able to spend after binding to Alipay, WeChat, or Apple Pay?
Not necessarily. Successful spending depends on various factors including the third-party platform, merchant type, card network channel, regional restrictions, risk control reviews, and card balance.
Can Ucard be used for online spending?
Yes, subject to whether the merchant supports Mastercard payments.
Can Ucard be used for offline spending?
If you have successfully bound Ucard to a wallet or third-party platform that supports offline payments, you may theoretically use it for offline spending. Actual availability depends on the rules of the bound platform and the merchant's acceptance policies.
In which scenarios might Ucard not work?
The following scenarios may result in payment failure or restrictions:
- Merchant does not support Mastercard;
- The third-party platform does not support binding or using this card;
- The user's location or spending region is restricted;
- Insufficient card balance;

For scenarios such as hotels, car rentals, and deposits, pre-authorization holds may apply. Actual rules are subject to channel settlement.
7. Refunds & Returns
Will the 0.5 USDT authorization fee be refunded after a refund?
No, the authorization fee will not be refunded.
Why might the refund amount differ from the original transaction amount?
Possible reasons include:
- Exchange rate differences between the time of purchase and refund;
- Third-party platform or merchant fees are non-refundable;
- Settlement differences by the international card network or channel;
- Refund only covers the product amount, not service fees. The actual refund amount is subject to the merchant and channel settlement.
Where will the refund go?
Refunds will be credited back to the Ucard balance.
